Budget tracking
Ten default categories, real-time actuals, and the ability to see what that extra setup costs before you say yes.
Each project has a budget with ten default categories: crew, equipment, locations, post, music, travel, catering, insurance, props, and contingency. You set the allocated amount for each category, then log expenses against them as they come in.
Budget versus actual is always visible. Not last Thursday's numbers. The current numbers. When a producer on set is asked whether there's room for an extra setup or a second camera day, they can check the budget in Telova and give a real answer instead of guessing.
Expenses can be logged by anyone on the project with the right permissions. Each expense records the amount, category, date, a description, and optionally a receipt. The project overview shows total budget, total spent, and remaining balance at a glance.
