Getting started
Creating your first project
Projects are where the work happens. Each one moves through six stages from intake to archive.
Click "New Project" from your dashboard or the sidebar. You'll be asked for a name, a project type (commercial, documentary, social content, corporate, or custom), and optionally a client name, start date, and target date.
Once created, the project starts in the Intake stage. From there it can move through Pre-production, Production, Post-production, Delivery, and Archive. You advance stages manually when the work is ready, and Telova runs gate checks at each transition to make sure nothing critical was missed.
What are gate checks?
Before you can move from Pre-production to Production, for example, Telova checks whether the brief is approved, the budget is locked, key crew are confirmed, and contracts are signed. You can override these checks if you need to, but they're there to catch the things that tend to blow up on set because someone forgot to lock them down during prep.
Project types
The project type affects which default task templates and asset sections are created. A commercial project gets different defaults than a documentary. You can always customise after creation.
